As the Diesel Repair Shop Manager, you will use your leadership, organization, and communication skills to manage shop operations and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. Your role includes coordinating and scheduling vehicle maintenance and repairs for trucks, and trailers, including preventative maintenance and mechanical or electrical work. You’ll also oversee hiring, training, and mentoring technicians to maintain a high-performing, motivated team at our Rome location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and schedule repairs and maintenance for diesel vehicles, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Supervise and develop a team of diesel technicians, fostering strong morale and a collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers to understand their needs and provide updates on repairs and services.
  • Monitor shop performance, including auditing work for accuracy and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Utilize computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and maintaining repair records.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training programs to develop team members' technical and customer service skills.

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in shop in a leadership style role required. (Foreman/Supervisor/Manager)

 

Skills/Certifications

  • Valid Drivers’ License Required (Class A CDL preferred)
  • Able to work with hands tools.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office/Outlook/Excel
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose component problems.
  • Understands all maintenance sections of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Qualified inspector of Equipment Annual Inspection as defined under FHWA 396.12.
  • Qualified Brake Inspector as defined under FHWA 396.25.

Posted Salary Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
